About This Project

This was a 750sqm heritage building that was being used as a restaurant downstairs and under-utilised function room upstairs. As it had been a nightclub in the past it had a large internal void where customers could look down from the 2nd floor to the dancefloor below. The building required a change of use which involved the void being filled in to convert the 2nd floor into high end architectural apartments. HPM managed this process along with the construction, which included reconfiguring the downstairs restaurant and adding a courtyard which in collaboration with Heritage New Zealand complimented the old original facade.

In November 2020, Parker’s Apartments were awarded the Art Deco Trust Heritage Building Adaptive Re-use award, in recognition of the efforts required to undertake such projects to breathe life back into Napier’s heritage buildings. Please refer to https://www.parkersapartments.co.nz
