About This Project

The development of a new world-class 150MW geothermal power station on the Tauhara geothermal field in Taupo, valued at $924 million, represents a significant advancement in renewable energy for New Zealand. HPM was involved in a $600 million portion of this project and were instrumental in the project’s success, having been engaged to develop and maintain comprehensive programme control systems. Their responsibilities encompass the overall scheduling and provision of detailed project reporting, including risk management, programming updates, and regular reports to the Project Control Group (PCG) and the broader project team. HPM’s involvement ensures that all aspects of the project’s progress are meticulously tracked and communicated, fostering transparency and efficiency in the delivery of this critical renewable energy project.

This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide a reliable source of baseload electricity, capitalising on the region’s geothermal resources to support the nation’s energy needs sustainably. The project underscores New Zealand’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy infrastructure, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and achieving our climate goals.
