Hastings Street Retail Fit Out and Strengthening

This project involved the redevelopment of a retail building located in the Art Deco quarter of Napier City. We managed the design through to construction, covering demolition, alteration, seismic strengthening, and the new fit-out. Following the strengthening works, the building achieved 70% NBS.

As the site formed part of Napier’s Art Deco quarter, a Resource Consent was required, and we were actively involved in managing this process. Given the central location in a busy part of town, public safety was a key consideration throughout construction.

We engaged the contractor early in the process, collaborating to achieve successful pricing and secure materials at a time when the industry faced significant supply constraints during and after Covid-19. This proactive approach helped ensure the project was delivered successfully despite challenging conditions.
