The project management of this architectural development focused on coordinating diverse elements to ensure a seamless and functional design. The building integrates multiple smaller forms into a cohesive structure, anchored by solid concrete masses that connect it to the local beach and the area’s historic weatherboard style. The cedar cladding blends the house with the surrounding hills, while expansive glass sections frame stunning vistas requiring extensive management of suppliers and trades.
The project was delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic and amid global supply chain disruptions, where our project management expertise was crucial in maintaining onsite processes and timelines. As the project neared completion, a severe cyclone struck the region, further complicating progress. Our team quickly adapted, resetting the project schedule and addressing the resulting challenges.
The beachside location required significant earthworks, along with careful planning for the installation of a large swimming pool. The project also featured some of the largest windows available in New Zealand, requiring custom manufacturing and precise installation to meet design specifications. Through careful coordination and proactive management, we successfully delivered the project despite these complexities.
