This project involved essential repair, and maintenance works to the roofing and guttering of a building that had developed numerous leaks, along with structural strengthening of the existing building. Phase 1 focused on the roofing and guttering repairs, delivered as part of the building’s maintenance programme. The strengthening works required detailed design, contractor management, and careful programming, as the building accommodated tenants who needed to close their businesses while construction took place. This project involved the redevelopment of a retail building located in the Art Deco quarter of Napier City. We managed the design through to construction, covering demolition, alteration, seismic strengthening, and the new fit-out. Following the strengthening works, the building achieved 70% NBS. As the site formed part of Napier’s Art Deco quarter, a Resource Consent was required, and we were actively involved in managing this process.
