The project management of this architectural development focused on coordinating diverse elements to ensure a seamless and functional design. The building integrates multiple smaller forms into a cohesive structure, anchored by solid concrete masses that connect it to the local beach and the area’s historic weatherboard style. Cedar cladding blends the house with the surrounding hills, while expansive glass sections frame stunning vistas.

Delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic and amid global supply chain disruptions, HPM’s project management expertise was crucial in maintaining onsite processes and timelines. As the project neared completion, the region was struck by a severe cyclone, further complicating progress. The delivery team quickly adapted and worked together to reset the project schedule and address the resulting challenges.

The beach site location necessitated significant earthworks, and careful planning was required for the installation of a large swimming pool. Additionally, the project featured windows of the largest size available in New Zealand, requiring custom manufacturing and precise installation to meet design specifications. HPM’s management ensured the project’s successful delivery despite these complexities.
