Punakerua Development

We delivered a high-end private residential development executed over three phases. Phases One and Two, which included the Manager’s Lodge and Implement Shedding, were completed in February 2019, with Phase Three completed in 2021.

Phase Three involved a 1,000m² dwelling, incorporating a combination of in-situ and precast concrete, structural steel, and the latest servicing technologies, all finished to a premium standard. A distinctive large timber wave ceiling spans a significant portion of the house, making it one of the most unique high-end homes in New Zealand.

The project required comprehensive civil works to establish roading and building platforms, while the remote farmland location meant that servicing solutions had to be resolved early in the design process.

A critical aspect of our role was managing the relationship between our international client and the local iwi. We ensured robust and respectful communication channels were established, holding regular consultations to align the project objectives with the cultural values and expectations of the iwi. This collaborative approach fostered mutual respect and understanding, contributing to the successful completion of the project.
