This project involved the redevelopment of a retail building located in the Art Deco quarter of Napier City. We managed the design through to construction, covering demolition, alteration, seismic strengthening, and the new fit-out. Following the strengthening works, the building achieved 70% NBS. As the site formed part of Napier’s Art Deco quarter, a Resource Consent was required, and we were actively involved in managing this process. We delivered a high-end private residential development executed over three phases. Phases One and Two, which included the Manager's Lodge and Implement Shedding, were completed in February 2019, with Phase Three completed in 2021. Phase Three involved a 1,000m² dwelling, incorporating a combination of in-situ and precast concrete, structural steel, and the latest servicing technologies, all finished to a premium standard. HPM managed the transformation of a 750 sqm heritage building that was previously used as a restaurant on the ground floor with an under-utilised function room upstairs. Having formerly been a nightclub, the building featured a large internal void where customers could look down from the second floor to the dancefloor below.
