This private development was executed in three phases. Phases one and two, which included the Manager's Lodge and Implement Shedding, were completed by February 2019, with phase three finished in 2021. This inner-city heritage building was refurbished into new open plan offices as per architectural drawings. The building was also under seismic code and required seismic strengthening to comply. This was a challenging project due to its inner-city location and requirements of time frame. Overall, the project was completed to a very high standard and within the 5-month timeframe. This is an old historic building of Napier, and with this always comes challenges that require problem solving along the way. This was a 750sqm heritage building that was being used as a restaurant downstairs and under-utilised function room upstairs. As it had been a nightclub in the past it had a large internal void where customers could look down from the 2nd floor to the dancefloor below. The building required a change of use which involved the void being filled in to convert the 2nd floor into high end architectural apartments. Hawkes Bay Regional Sports Park was constructed via a comprehensive phased development, the overall goal of this development was to enhance the athletic performance and community well-being of Hawkes Bay and wider regional area.
